Session Rates
Like many specialty providers, I am an out-of-network provider, which means I’m not directly in-network with major insurance. Clients can use of out-of-network benefits, which many don’t know they have! Many people with PPO insurance plans have out-of-network benefits and can get reimbursed by their insurance anywhere from 50-80% of the session rate once their out-of-network deductible is met. Being an out-of-network provider allows me to take a less pathologizing approach (whereas insurance companies require focus on diagnosis & operate in a medical model). It also allows me to take on an appropriately sized caseload so that I can provide you with the best quality of care as a present and energized clinician. If you’re interested in more insight into the challenges with insurance & mental health care, feel free to read this article from NPR.
I support in using Mentaya to get clients reimbursed, for those who want to use the service. Mentaya directly deals with your insurance company to submit the claims and handle issues. I also can provide Superbills for you to directly submit to your insurance for reimbursement if you prefer. Use the Insurance Benefits Check Tool from Mentaya to see an estimate of what out-of-network benefits you have! Look at the FAQ section here for more information on what to ask your insurance.

More Info on Insurance & Rates
Some prefer not to involve insurance, at all, which is also an option. This allows us to not have to submit a diagnosis and other information to your insurance and is a great option for those wanting maximum privacy, flexibility, and confidentiality.
Reduced Rate: I do negotiate my rate when possible and hold a reserved amount of reduced rate spots to support in accessibility. I update information here when these spots are full. *Reduced Rate spots are currently full.*
Optional Community Fund Donation: Clients have the option to “pay it forward” and donate to support others in receiving reduced rate services. This totally optional donation to that fund is $180.
No Suprises Act Disclosure
The No Surprises Act requires providers to give patients a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of medical care for those not using health insurance for services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of non-emergency services.
You can ask your provider for a Good Faith Estimate prior to scheduling with them. You should receive a Good Faith Estimate at least 1 business day prior to your first scheduled appointment.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Please save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate.
If you have additional questions regarding information on the Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
